Connect
Start in Fellowship
Saturate Indiana with the Gospel
Acts 1:8 • Our Shared Mission
A simple pathway to help every Crossroads church connect well, strengthen leaders, and multiply ministry so that every Hoosier can hear the good news of Jesus.
Our Mission
In Acts 1:8, Jesus gave His church its marching orders—and they haven’t changed. Our pathway helps churches move from Connect → Strengthen → Multiply. As pastors thrive, leaders are equipped, and congregations mobilize, churches become sending churches—releasing lay leaders, missionaries, and pastors across Indiana and beyond.
Step 1: CONNECT — Care for Pastors
A fellowship without fellowship… really isn’t a fellowship.
That’s why the Connect step is the foundation of our Saturate Indiana pathway. Healthy ministry starts with healthy pastors—and healthy pastors are rarely isolated pastors.
Local Fellowship Meetings
We encourage every pastor to join a local fellowship group within 60 minutes of driving time. Currently, five groups meet regularly, and we plan to launch three more by the end of 2026. You can join an existing group or help us start a new one in your region.
These local fellowships are far more than a quick meal or casual get-together—though food and friendship are welcome parts. They are intentional gatherings for:
- Spiritual health – checking in on one another’s walk with God
- Accountability – encouraging integrity in life and ministry
- Prayer – bearing each other’s burdens before the Lord
Why This Matters
We build these relationships in the good times, when it may not seem urgent, so that in the dark valleys—and they will come—we already have trusted friends who can help sustain us. Strong friendships keep us productive, engaged, and protected from burnout, with healthy home lives and marriages.
Proverbs 18:1 warns: “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.”Isolation fuels self-centeredness and opens the door to poor decision-making. When pastors try to carry the load alone, they risk drifting into unhealthy patterns that damage their souls, their families, and their churches.
A Kingdom-Minded Perspective
In The Kingdom-Minded Pastor, Tom Chesire and Tony Rose remind us that ministry is not about building our own kingdoms but about advancing God’s kingdom together. True pastoral health comes when we work interdependently, not independently. Local fellowship groups give us the space to live that out—encouraging one another to stay faithful, focused, and fruitful for the long haul.
The Goal
The Connect step ensures no pastor stands alone. Through intentional fellowship, prayer, and accountability, we strengthen one another’s hands for the work, so that the churches we lead remain healthy, engaged, and on mission.
